Ring in the new year with The Recompiler

As we ring in 2018, we look back on a big year at The Recompiler. We did tons of podcasts, published four new issues, and launched our first book. Thanks to our generous Kickstarter backers we raised over $24,000 to bring you even more for 2018.

Four New Issues of The Recompiler

This past year, we published great issues on Hardware, Data, and Security. We capped it off with the Wildcard issue, which allowed our writers to cover any topic they wanted to.

Our most popular articles online were

But if you want to read all the articles, you’ll have to grab the issues. All four are available as part of our Year 2 Digital Collection. If you prefer paper, we have back issues of each available for order.

And of course there will be four more issues in 2018. Digital and print subscriptions are still available. The first will be about Hard Problems. The second will be about Science! and we’re still looking for contributions. Find details and submit at https://recompilermag.com/participate/ We’ll be announcing more details about the following two issues in the next couple of months.

Our Books

This year we launched our first book project, The Responsible Communication Style Guide. We’re excited to hear how this guide has already helped so many writers tackle tough issues. If you haven’t checked it out, we have ebooks and print editions available at our store.

Look for more books from us in 2018. Our next one is Community Event Planning, 2nd ed. This guide aims to be a resource for inclusive event planning. We’ll cover everything from selecting the best talks to building event planning teams. We owe a big thanks to our Kickstarter backers helping us get underway.

Our Podcast

2017 was also a big year for our podcast. We did an astonishing 17 new episodes and now offer transcripts of each new recording. You can also listen to our podcast recording live on Fridays, 10am Pacific time, at recompilermag.live.
